A lullaby for a werwolf

lilli scharnow

Bones

Flesh

Skin

Hair

Gutted and drained, harbinger of pain who might you be on your horse so high above the heads of those you came to kill

Ember

Coal

Fire

Air

Don't you desire an open wound to feast on, your tainted eyes skimming the horizon for the nearest prey

Limbs

Eyes

Teeth

Fur

Creature of the winding night, tell me do you want to die? Tell me has your spirit fallen to the beast that claimed your body oh so painfully that winter night?

Crime

loss

Fear

Hate

Tell me what do you fear more the village's fire with their molten core, or perhaps the chance that the moon howls back? The chance that what you are now from leg to neck is nothing to him but a spot of dark fur and rage

Bones

Flesh

Skin

Hair

What do you fear more tonight, the nightsky with its beaming light or tell me but what will you do when the winter takes you too.

Loose the fight and loose the war, loose to ice and loose to shore

Don't look back and don't hang on, and sing the moon your long-lost song
