(Remembering a Gentleman)
For you, Augustus,
Have grown old,
Though golden is your mane
And you have
Much to do with gold,
As love you still retain
Beyond the gate,
The cruel winds blow
Where death has
Not a care
Yet you would chance
The journey now,
As you have loved ones there
You are a king
Of kindly cats,
A kindred life
Grown frail
That gazes from behind a gate
And licks his shedding tail.[1]
[1] Augustus passed away after a long and difficult illness.

What a lovely tribute to Augustus. Cats are a huge part of many people's lives - we have rescue cat Billy who is 16 years - a real character who will be sadly missed when his day comes.
Thanks, Classicmister - Peace & Best Wishes.
