Drowned

Lillian

I’ve been held underwater,

Just wanting to get out.

I’ve never been much of a fighter,

But I’d rather fight than shout.

I feel the pressure growing,

My airway getting tighter.

I’ve lost all hope of seeing

Someone to give me meaning.

I’m trapped underwater,

And I can’t make it out.

I scream and I shout,

But nobody hears me.

But then, out of nowhere, I see

A being of majestic beauty.

I spared him a glance,

And dared take a chance

To let him in, and set me free

From being trapped under the rolling sea.
