Emotions

ryanjames30

“My eyes pierce the glass as each rain drop falls, I stare at the clock as each minute ticks on, my mind goes blank. As each second passes they turn into minutes then to hours and days. I’m still blank. The world goes grey and the sun is eclipsed by emotions of darkness in the sky. A bright light peaks through and shines on me like a stage light at a play. It’s a sign, a reason to push forward and stay focused, to believe that something good is ahead of me. Even in times of darkness and sorrow, we have to believe that even if we don’t have headlights to illuminate the way, we will prevail and come out stronger in the end.”

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is something I wrote after dealing with a lot in my life when I was alone in my apartment and staring out the window on a very rainy day and completely lost in my own head.
