Angelina

Carter M. Flynn

There she sat everyday

Only about seven feet away

But it might as well been seven million miles

She tortured me from her perch where she was sitting

Having angel in her name was oh so fitting

Hypnotic smile

Flawless from head to toe

I wondered if she even knew my name

When the bell chimed alone home I would go

Visions of her filled my brain

The thought of never having her

Nearly drove me insane

In my mind she was my lover

She only loved me

She loved no other

Rumors of her promiscuity filled the halls

A nearly mute whisper of her sinful forbidden love with someone too close

None of those stories changed how I felt

When ever I was fortunate enough to lay eyes on her

My heart would melt

Oh my sweet angel why couldn't I make you see

Oh Angelina why couldn't it have been me?
