Hello all . I am Hozanaa Kujur and the author of this poem called Johar!
This is a Nagpuri language poem which is written using English font. Johar means respectfully welcome. The poem depicts the beauty of Chotanagpur's Tribal Landscape which is situated in the heart of Jharkhand state found in India. "Nagpuri" is the major language of Tribals living in Chotanagpur. Before you go through it, let me briefly let you know that it emphasizes on the stunning geographical beauty, the rich mineral soil, the fertile land, the colorful festivals they celebrate, the freedom fighters they adore, their cultural and traditional roots and the pain they still dwell in. Nagpuri is a lot like Hindi language. This poem is legally copyrighted via government of India. Do not reproduce it without my permission. Copyright diary no. 1759/2023-CO/L
Roure manke Johar
Aayo Abba Johar
O re Bhaiya Johar
O re Sangi, Johar
Awaa mil ke yaad kare
Apan sona Chotanagpure,
Awaa mil ke yaad kare
Apan swarag maati re.
Bhulo nahi, Bhulo nahi,
Bhulo nahi, Des mahaan.
Bhulo nahi, Bhulo nahi,
Parampara, Itihaas.
Ee hamar heera, ee hamar sona,
Pyara Chotanagpur, kahela.
Jharna ghati, ratan maati,
Sarso dhaan heenya khilela.
Hariyari khet, chaaye baagan,
Koyel Morini, gaaye gaan.
Netarhaat, neela aakas,
Sab ke dilon may, karle raaj.
Veer Budhu Birsa Mahaan,
Sidhu Kanhu, hamre Bhagwan.
Kahan paale ayisan kurbaan?
Dharti laagin, de delayi jaan.
Tusu, Sarhul, Rohini, Karma,
Jawa, Sohrai, Bandana.
Maandar Banam baaje surila,
Jhoomar naach naachela.
Damodar, Koyel, Swarn-rekha,
Jhili mili chamkela.
Anmol Loha, abhrak, tamba,
Tor Kora kora milela.
Safaa paani, neela aakaas,
Choyeer gelak tor, apan niwaas,
Deyike aansu, naa jaa pardes,
Toh ke naa aabe, naa koi sandes.
Adivasi Barso sangharsh karela,
Dharti laagin maan praan debela,
Nagri hamri kare khoob Unnati,
Phir kaahe rahat dukhi zindagi?
