“I’ll be the ocean and you’ll be the sun”
you said and that’s exactly what we painted on our face
I got my period first in 4th grade you haven’t gotten your not even in the 6th grade
We felt comfortable showing more then our skin because we were sisters by choice
We never stopped caring that’s all we ever did and even now I still kinda do
I don’t know everything about you now but we grew up together at some point
We were girls together and then we grew apart

An experience that I wish I had never taken part in- the distancing of friends is always the most painful. Beautiful poem my darling.
