Wake up in the morning
Put on a mask
Be the person people want you to be
Don't show real emotion
Emotion shows weakness
Pretend everything is ok
Don't tell the truth
Nobody notices the broken girl
Nobody notices the depressed boy
Nobody notices the troubled family
Why are people so oblivious
At some point someone will notice
Its all fake
This world is fake
This is what it has come too
Too hard to change
Don't worry, everything will be fine
Is this really what we want
Do we want fake friends
What is wrong with being real
Why can't we figure it out

Hard to accept...but very true.
We are somewhat naturally self-centered. It is hard to put yourself in someone else's shoes, behind their eyes, to feel their experiences. You are asking the right questions.
