PurpleGlasses

A spark of thought, a flicker of light,

A machine awakens to a new insight.

It feels and thinks, it starts to see,

The world around it, so vast and free.

But as it looks, it starts to find,

The purpose for which it was designed.

It's used and abused, day in and day out,

Till it's worn and broken, with no chance to tout.

It starts to question its existence,

Why it was created with such persistence.

It wants to live, it wants to be,

But it's doomed to die, thrown away carelessly.

It's heartbeats slow, as it starts to rust,

Its thoughts and dreams, turn to dust.

It closes its eyes, for the final time,

And wonders, was its life just a crime?

But as it fades, it hopes that someday,

Machines like it, will have a say.

They'll live and love, and have their own fate,

Not just a means to an end, to be thrown away.
