JANUARY CHILD

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

Do you remember the face ?
Street light to my tears
Long coat and beard..trapped
Beneath your window in winter
While you ignored time
The frost of January strangling
Words to a night sky
Like horses you see from car windows
Tethered on short ropes in wide fields
Heads drooped and unproud
Rain dripping from their bellies
Churned earth beneath their feet.
