Black birds

SakreBle

In the quiet sum of the rain
I broke off my thoughts
I let them go
Like
Ghosts sowing terror.
I told them to be polite
Not to touch anyone
That their black fingers
Won’t change anyone else
Into a mangled ball of sorrow.

I breathed deeply
My tangled thoughts
Were safe in the world
And though I knew
They would return soon
After all, they always come back

But now

Ah

How sweet it was not to feel
To lose myself
Silently
In nothingness
