The Wraith

Shelby Hines

If I were to disappear
Would I be forgot?
Would I be sought?
Become just an afterthought?
If so, was I ever really here?

If logic forsook my mind
Why would that be?
What would I believe?
Would I still be me?
If so, would I lose my insight?

If time ended this day
What would I be?
What would I see?
Would I be free?
If so, would I linger, or fade away?

If my life has passed
Where would I go?
How would I know?
No more tomorrow?
If so, how long would it last?

I reason, therefore I am
I am cynical
I cast no shadow, therefore am I?
Am I invisible?
