moving forward

"the only way is forward"

you're right, you know that and you are trying to convince me of that

i know you're right, i don't want you to be

but you are

right.

and that hurts

hurts because after all these years i knew

i knew the only way was forward but the only person- 

only person i had to tell me that, was myself

myself, and i don't believe a word i say.

you are the first person i told-

first person that listened when i told them,

first person to reassure me that it was not my fault,

that it was not on me

that, yes, there were things that could've been done

but i'd already tried them and anything else,

i wouldn't have been able to do. 

you are the first that has encouraged me,

encouraged me to speak out about it,

and for that, i thank you

i think ill be able to do it now,

i am terrified

but i think

i think i am ready
