A Valentine Poem to the One I Love

maythepoet

To the North Pole…

My Love for you will never die

It’s like a flower that thrives for sun

That’s how my heart aches for nourishment

It’s wilting, dying, and losing it’s fragrant charm

Don’t let your cold, cold heart of stone

Reject the source that feeds my heart, my all, my restless soul

It hurts to love you all alone

With no response, no feelings at all

Express the love you know you feel

Don’t let your ego destroy your dream

I know it’s there deep in your soul

Unlock the door and feel the joy

Unleash your love, revive my heart

That yearns the link it takes to make me whole

Don’t be afraid to let it show

I know it’s there to be released

For both our hearts to be complete

This is my Valentine wish for you my love

Don’t wait too long, for life is short

….from the Mayflower

This poem was written a few years ago when I was in a relationship that was extremely difficult . I wrote this poem and showed it the the person that it was meant for anonymously. It must have touched him because he read it numerous times. Until I revealed the author at the time of breaking up the relationship. It was a painful time in my life.
