Missed Beyond Measure

MJL

It didn’t turn out like she wanted
Like she expected
She gave her life to him
To make him happy
To make him better
He cheated on her
He gave her little
But sadness
So she slept with hope
And one morning
She woke up late
Dried sleep in her eyes
Alone
Aware of the choice
Every solitary year
Given for a dream
Her eyes closed again
Gray winter clounds hovering low
Oaks gnarled fingers pointing
To another life
Missed beyond measure

Well written MJL, but very sad.

      Thanks, Jane Frye.

Sorry, totally agree. Very sad. Was exploring the emotions of a familiar scene. Also, relating some anger/sadness about growing old and becomming aware of time and choices made.

Many thanks for reading. I'm sorry it made you sad. 🙂
