Why Do You Go?

Jasmine Swift

Some moments are better when they're shared.

In the dark ones, it's nice to know that you cared.

In times of heartbreak, I know I should not despair.

But without you here, for me, who's going to be there?

And reasons for this run through my head.

Why is this so? Was it something I said?

It's hard to think of the church without you.

Now there's nothing left, it's something I must do.

This is something I wish I didn't have to know.

So if the reason isn't me, why do you go?

  • Comment from author about the poem: Dear Anuchka Ratsara, I don't know if you will ever see this poem. But I want you to know that I wrote it for you. We have spent many years as friends. I couldn't be happier to say that I looked up to you through all of them. I know you must leave, but I want you to know that you will be missed. May God bless you on you and Pastor's journey into the unknown future.
