The Bear and the Hare

Mitchell Wood

The bear could not compare

To the hare, who was always there

Sprinting around the forest,

Like the dominant hare he was.

Although the bear once was spry,

He was no longer,

The dominant bear he used to be

The bear decided at noon,

That things must change quite soon

So that the bear could once again,

Be the dominant bear he used to be.

The bear began to run

Everyday, he rose with the sun

Training to be faster,

To get better than the hare

Now the bear, too

Could sprint around the forest

As fast, maybe faster, than the hare

And the bear clearly was,

The dominant bear he used to be
