Watching Our World Fade Away

vampiristicthoughts

I sit head in the clouds

Watching my world fade away

Silence becomes so loud

Hearing my voice decay

I stay silent and say not a sound

The end remains unchanged either way

Desolate my life became

The moment I met your eye

Nothing was ever the same

Earthly delights have consumed you and I

Yet I pray for us even in vain

Days

Pass

It feels like nothing really tends to last,

Nights

Fall

Nothing seems to matter at all

I

Stay

Watching my world fade away

It all happened swift in a craze

My hindsight is only a dark blur

All I still see is your gaze

Like two quick trains our lives concur

And from rails we became a maze

Eyes

Shut

I’m too stuck to move on but I must,

Take

Me

To the heavens I yield to be free

Save

Us

For the Lord has been buried by lust

I stay watching our world fade away.
