Spiritual Sight

Tune: Doncaster

('Put thou thy trust in God')

Luke 6 v.39-42

*******

Can the blind lead the blind?

Will they the way then find?

Shall not they both fall, get nowhere

As useless things they share

'Tis spiritual blindness

This Jesus does confess

The disciples not above, see

Their master, fair it be

Why you the speck behold

In the eye, it be told

Of another, yet perceive not

Beam in own eye your lot

Or how can you say to

Another, let me, do

Take out the speck in your eye, so

Good sight you then shall know

Do you not see the beam

In your own eye, or seem

It to be imaginary

Truth is, you cannot see

It hypocritical

Cast out first the beam all

Of your own eye, then clearly you

Remove specks, cause fine view
