FEBRUARY 2nd IS GROUNDHOG DAY

Natalie Gladmir

From aincient times this great feast goes back
When Candlemas day was begun by Christians
On February 2, according to Gregorian almanac.
The weather on that day was guessed at once,
It was a sign for coming of the wished-for spring.
& even if the groundhog predicted a long winter,
It would be absolutely stupid & depressive thing
To kill our splendid mood with a nasty splinter.
Eliminating gloom and sadness of everyday life,
Timid humans will go to the higher mental level.
They say it's banned to go out in the dark...rife
On February 2, so as not to meet with spirit evil.
