And so it sits here,
this thing in my chest,
craving a way to be
bled onto pages
see, this thing is alive
it's brushing against its cage
this thing is quiet
straining whispers against the light
An untameable thing
hunched over and silent
the tragedy of a beast
whose past was violent

wonderful imagery, well written
thanks for sharing, dear poet
(funny how we regress, to survive
rediscovering that fetal position
to cocoon, what remains of us within
awaiting that Aurora, opportunity
to re-remerge, and try one more
time)
