Leaving

Fred Smith

Leaving you, my love, is like a storm at sea

The winds are strong and the waves are high

I hold on tight, but I know I must be free

To find my way to the other side

The night is long and the journey is rough

But I must go where my heart leads me

And though it hurts and it feels so tough

I know this pain will eventually cease

I'll miss your smile, I'll miss your touch

The way you laugh, the way you sing

But I must leave, I must do it so much

For it is time for me to spread my wings

So I'll take a step and I'll take a bow

And I'll walk away from all we know

But in my heart, I'll carry you always

As I go where the road may take me, my love, always.

Quite the thing, love is; we can bring it with us unlike other things. An inspiration. Thanks for sharing, Rik
