Crouching chameleon
Cloaked in green
Awaits it's prey
Basking butterfly
Palate of vibrant hues
Awaits floral brush
Chameleon captures
Fleeting ,fluttering life
Lights up in flames of hue
As colour transcends life

- Comment from author about the poem: Chameleons change colour and so does life. This is based on the transcience of life and colours...Chameleons usually display bright colors when they're excited ...what I want to elucidate here through the metaphor of the chameleon and the butterfly is that colours i.e possessions change hands or owners with time in life and nature...Ephemeral colours may sometimes vanish from our lives only to return again to light up our lives with vibrant hues ....

What does the poor butterfly represent m?
The butterfly represents the innocence of life that is sometimes killed by rational thought
Can you explain that into more detail I’m intrigued
Well what I'm trying to portray here is that life at one point is like a rainbow of colours untouched hence its a palate that Awaits a floral brush ...then this pure innocence is replaced by cunning and greedy chameleon who grabs the butterfly and almost takes all the colours away from it to make its own...this could be interpreted as 2 phases of life or 2 different sections of society
Very observant, and a witty translation of a natural phenomenon into and intriguing poem!
Thank you dear poet😍
