  • Comment from author about the poem: This haiku was written about the killing of \r\nMahsa Amini in the hands of the “morality police”\r\nfor loose hijab. Her name means the moon (like the moon.) This sparked the new wave of the human rights movement in Iran with the slogan of \r\nWoman Life Freedom.

Mahsa has been my screen saver since her death. The inhumanity of the regime is all the more tragic given how beautiful and brave the people of Iran are. Thank you for this little epitaph. Courage.

      This speaks volumes
and needs more air time ..
I sincerely hope many others shall now make their way here in the wake I hope I have created .. Neville

        these words will be needed
        should be repeated
for every new generation, to realise
        until someday
people will learn, belief's or culture
if our ideal's equate to us judging
        another person, as being less
        due to our differences
        and their entitled, choices
then it is our ideals that must
        change!
such a timely and needed write, dear Poet
        thank you!
