an unloved heart

H. Jordan

My heart is overflowing

It's clogging my throat

It's drowning my lungs

So much feeling kept down

So much love kept quiet

How much will I be missed

If I love no one

If no one loves me

I could have a silver tongue

I could have gold in piles

I could have beauty beyond compare

But if I have no love, if I give no love

I have nothing

I am still hopeful that I will one day receive what I deserve

That I will give away what another needs

But until that day

My heart aches

For love it cannot give

Can not receive
