Asked for guidance once again

Poetic Dan

I asked my young dog again for guidance and she told me this...

Just roll on your back then go for a piss, embrace every moment like you was ment to exist!

Never miss the chance to have a good sniff and if it ain't broken don't try to fix it

We walked some more and I thought all of that understanding in only a short few years, as I began to write I got a look and the last lesson was pretty clear.

A gaze with enough vision to see without tears, as I brake free from these human emotions and heal my trauma from within

Eternally grateful for this journey of memories to keep my heart permanently lit, I'd never of met half of the people or be who I am without its guidance.

Nature always finds away and I'm glad to be part of it.

  • Comment from author about the poem: It has been a wild ride the last few week and days. Yesterday was our first full day without little Jack and it was spent walking, writing with lots of music in my ear. Really appreciated your kind words and support, thank you with much peace and respect. Do what you gotta do to keep taking a step!

Take one step at a time Dan,
Jack was a huge part of your life, and it will take time to heal, but the Lord has you and will ease the pain of losing a loved one

seek ye a bridge to evermore
a place where heart's never tear
        behold, these four legged wonders
        shadowing our every step
        smiling, at our silent jokes
        loving us, unconditional
        excavating, that good
        we keep hidden, deep within
seek ye a bridge, to fast-forward
        days of pain, after loss
simply reset, your eyes my friend
        look, within
look for that trusted friend, believe
        all that love and devotion
        will never dissipate or betray
('the tears will come, let them' John Keats)
        may they bathe you, anew
path your journey, to that awaiting
        next
        onwards my brother, we celebrate
        those who blessed our lives
by each step, we fight to survive
to make them proud, to show them
        our devotion, to their bequeathed
        legacy of beloved, memories

My friend I'm truly blessed to receive all your comments and this being the last really topped it off! Tears did flow from many words of your own but each one was pure to free my soul.
Never before have I been so grateful for someones time but you my friend definitely returned the favour to give this goofy old face a unique smile.
          Cheers buddy

stay strong my friend, journey is long
            yet, not without its rewards
here, where we yet still draw breath
and find the will, to dream
proudly remember, those we so dearly
            treasure
