scalding

reneesunknown

scalding summer days fade into fall.

i'm still grasping tight and smelling flesh burn.

october brought out the worst in me.

it carved me up and demanded a smile

until i rotted from the inside

and pulp spilled from my guts.

i never understood why i couldn't make you love me

as i sat back

choking

on

pumpkin seeds.
