Errant

Fay Slimm.

Errant

Wet footprints in lone beach twilight
appear
from secretive
paths to steal moments
as two recondite hearts deny
errant breeds danger.

Lullaby shush of deserted ebb tide
seeps
into intrigue
as hands and lips meet
and capture desire's clandestine
on rendezvous sand.

Tread cautiously lovers for maybe
romance
that moonlit caught
can move to foolish as fate
at will alters true to fantasy and
covert to failure.

...anything clandestine hints at danger and the unseen. Very emotive and sobering.

    • Fay Slimm.

You use the right words in this perceptive view of danger surrounding the clandestine friend. Thank you loads for your visit and read of Errant.

I got the distinct feeling this was no chance encounter .. one or the other had it planned for months I reckon .. x

Not far off the mark is your reckoning Nev. -- - Fate sure has its way in the end............x

The accompanying picture so aptly evokes the nature of your poem dear Fay. In the light of day all that is true will be revealed, but the cloak of twilight feeds our imaginings. A beautiful write my friend!

          • Fay Slimm.

Your review is always most appreciated dear Bella and this comment proves no exception as you have more than the gist of what I tried to describe that twilight can amplify romantic feelings. So pleased you enjoyed the read my friend.

            'Tread cautiously lovers for maybe

            so sweet
such a unique portrayal of intimacy
            dear Fay
(on our tippy toes, we inch forth
            tepid, yet ears deafened
            by our pulsating, anticipation)

            • Fay Slimm.

Indeed each romantically drawn clandestine step requires caution dear Mek - - yet the outcome can often change lives forever............... again my gratitude for your continued poetic support.
