That person was you

arie_jac

I feel played, toyed with, used.

For my laughter, body, company, and joy.

So many things could have hurt me, but you?

I never thought you would do this to me.

Of all people in the world.

You, who I thought I could tell anything.

But no.

You take my strength,

my heart, and yet still my focus.

It was perfect.

All-night calls, and compliments.

Some people fall for the wrong people.

I guess, that person was you.

      (identifying that toxic presence
      is so hard, when
it's the very person we entrust, with our heart
      that betrays us
still, if we survive and are lucky
      enough
      those scars we're afforded
      may become
our most vital, lessons in life...)
      stays strong! thanks for sharing
