I love you said only out of habit
words said over slowly but losing their meaning
as moves on a board, part of the gambit
relationships ruined by missed visits and religious leanings
I miss you said over the text again, with a gain
fast pace life, emotions clouded by greed
no visits were taken, just words to ease the pain
a lonely home filled with a lost family creed
couch seated two when this had begun
tears stained pillow on a bed for one
but lost words, and actions mistreated
dinner made for two heated and reheated
