Take Me to the River

[email protected]

Take me to the river

To sing your praises

To raise my hands to the heavens above---

And plunge to the hell below

Shout like you know more than the Lord

Push against the tempting fruit---

Unwieldy in your mouth

Lash out at demons you create

And refuse to copulate

Like the snake who thought the ground too hard

Slithered up a tree

And took away your choices

Go down on a knee

And sing your exhortations for to be free
