Gates of heaven

Addy

Raging flame, deadly and bright

Deep in the cloaked night

When will the entire world see

Your majestic beauty

Gone for ages unknown

Lost in the dreary shadows

For reappearance it’s about time

For the seed of darkness has been sown

Mankind has gone astray

No longer can we keep evil at bay

Will your burning light

Guide us through these dark times?

Water will douse you not

Burn everything in your way

Light up a path

And guide us to the Gates of Heaven

"No longer can we keep evil at bay..."
This line is very reproachful. If people can no longer hold back evil, then who can do it? All people of good will are simply obliged to do this so that the world becomes kinder. Thank you. Your poem is addressed to hard-hearted and brutal humanity.
    Let them think about it!

Thank you for your kind words
