Untold Tellings

NewWolf

No one told me that the wings she gives me she'll one day clip.
That running for her, it's her leg that causes me to trip.

The courage to climb mountains reduced to a crawl.
The ability to run for anything only to fall.

All this because I fell in love with an energy.
One wrapped in human flesh, a gorgeous entity.

Words that spoke peace that danced with Sunshines' sunsets.
Romanced and pampered in that forever sunrise at best.
Gorilla proud to be hers shouting as I beat my chest.
A look in those eyes can put the iratest to rest.

No one told me that the river we carved would run dry.
That in battle she would abandon our cause and leave my side.
That there would no longer be a hand to wipe my wet eyes.
That what we have will linger as it fades like a sigh.

No one told me I'd be tortured by hope.
Dismembered spiritually piece by piece not understanding the joke.
Yes, I'm gullible but even men like me deserve to know.
If chance is a fantasy and soulmates are false dreams, is it all a show?

Breathing, eating, just doing everyday things
become a challenge to me, like a bird with no wings.

From the tree we planted I fall.
Hungry for her I crawl.

Hi, this is a beautiful piece of work, so well written it held my attention to the very end. The hurt feelings are put right out there for everyone reading it to also feel.

thank you so much for that.
