Thistle of the Nile

richardmwebesa707

Beautiful you are Thistle of the Nile

In bloom you sprout all year

Joy you bring many with smiles

The banks lay out in line for you in style

The Nile breeze blows through you all year

In silence you remain calmed like a mane on a Lion's neck

Like a babe in the arms of a mothers cuddle you won't break

Lightly you wonder off bended in the breeze of the day break

Holding onto the reeds a time you firmly grip

Lasting shortly like the noon bright shine

Daringly you move back and forth like a tip of a warrior's arrow

Dartingly you leap in spite of the ferocity of the Nile crocodile

Painlessly you gaze upon the roof of the skies

Clouds linger to hold the rains as they darken like the night

Who taught you to move to the sound of the whistle

The noise you make so much but as though so little

When the wind blows you don't bend

A melody you enjoy squeaky like life so brittle

Will you break like an eagle de-beaks itself in pain?

Stand still in train of the line of the slain

Disdained highly for none to imagine and explain

You are beautiful and brave mighty for thine
