Her Beating Heart

Addy

Deep down where the shadows play

There is something which keeps darkness at bay

Can you hear her dancing in the night

Fear the poor souls plight

For she came at the wrong time

And stepped on the midnight chime

Revered was she, destroyer of light

Her screams echoed deep in the night

Sweet as honey she appeared to be

But her rage was a sight to see

Bloodshot eyes hunting in her blood

Blossoms the fiery rage in a bud

She was wronged, once upon a time

Her bedazzled smile scent of honey and thyme

Oh! Innocence that she lost

Her revenge came at a terrible cost

Her punishment for evermore

Sorrow deep down in her core

Guardian of the burning light

Not a reward, a sorrow sight

To cover her agony on mortals she feeds

Time and time her heart bleeds

The choice she made, one of regret

This is her future,a dreary onset

She repents, she cries

But she sealed her demise

Protector of the abyss forevermore

All her remorse naught but store

In her beating heart
