They, can never own me
Barely, can they comprehend
Aesthetic surface of my
Oceanic lines and metaphors
Don’t get it twisted my ego’s in-check
Living life with my mirror meditations
Humility as my chosen guru, supreme
So trust me, when I advise you
We, sincerity’s soldiers levitate
Too far from their stunted, reach
For them to grasp, let alone entrap.
I wear my mistakes like Chinchilla blood
In our inherited, state
Funny, everyone assuming ‘hunter gatherer’
As an archaic mindset
Yet, miniskirts discombobulate awareness
Like scoped Antelopes
Fakery as our knew, new industrial evolution
Pseudo iridologist neurotic cages, clowning
Search engine egomaniacs, warping our binary
Realities, and here I am confusing you all
With my scribbling gymnastics
Poetics as art’s hollow, elitism
Unfurled, these words lament our discontent
Shuffling through life fearing our disconnect
Solution?
Surprise me, feed me lies as life’s butterflies.
Yet, become mercy
Foretell fate of our misery
Pilfer hope from death’s inevitable
Glean us a collective path to shared smiles
Syllables as my witness, I implore you all
Explore your horizons, carefully
Grasp your opportunities, boldly
May your life’s story, affirm your choices
Liberate thy self, know thy self: to be worthy!

I never realised until I had read and then re-read these words through in their entirety .. three times .. and following the link you left in your authors rectangle and visiting Youtube .. that you had also placed Jessie J in a perfect square just above or before .. They, can never own me ..
If, after having listened to the Youtube version I confess to reading your 'Beyond, our pigeonholing chains' a further twice .. I sincerely hope you get the measure of my appreciation for the whole bloomin page all the above rests easy on .... Neville
isn't that a beautiful message she put out into our world
life saving wisdom, unfurled accessible
'it's okay, to not be ok...!'
so glad you liked her song, Hyung
she's such an underrated writer and singer,
'big white room', 'nobody's perfect', 'masterpiece'
and so much more
she's a national treasure, I tell ya
lol
thank you Hyung, hope you and yours
have a lovely week
as-ever, your kind words humble me
🍻
Liberate thyself , know thyself , to be worthy
Great piece ... I love it
so glad, the younger we are when we realise
this simple truth's of life
the easier our jagged paths become to navigate..
thank you, kind Poet
L.B. "Surprise me, feed me lies as life's butterflies" what a wonderful line so pregnant with metaphor and vivid imagery. This whole piece reads as a soliloquy and the end so Shakespearean and "Liberate thy self, know thy self: to be worthy!" So many great lines in this work. Very nice and I liked the musical piece, it is ok to not be ok
(right? it's that simple
yet
that impossible, to grasp
before
we've been bruised by life..)
as-ever I appreciate how deep you dig
to find worth
in my hapless scribbles, my friend
humbly, I thank you!
Stunning verse on the vital need for scribes to find self-liberation and thus feel worthy to write from the heart and not only the mind. A wise choice indeed of an singer-song writer on Who You Are. Your title too speaks volumes to those who can hear
I cherish the day my poetic path
aligned with yours, dear Fay
what a gift!
as-ever you humble me
with your generous support
thank you!
The title says it all, because we are tethered by nature, but it’s also in us to break or go against our nature at times, a simple moment of clarity can be the catalyst for great things
You worded your wisdom so succinctly Profound!
I read and learn, kind Poet
Thank you!
Your talent to paint is Beautiful.
What kind words, you humble me dear Poet
thank you!
