You know what they say
That he is seen
When death comes your way
And I think
I saw the grim reaper yesterday
A shadow on my path, misty black
An alluring charm he had
I stopped to look, he stared back
In huis eyes I saw ages untold
My voice faltered, jaw went slack
We stayed in that moment, for a while
He laid his hand on my face
My breath caught, resistance futile
Embrace me, my dear
He said with a smile
In that moment all was seen
I knew him, he knew me
I saw what he is, what he had been
Are you afraid, said he
Will you accept all you’ve seen?
As I looked death in the eye
The answer dawned in my mind
I am not afraid to die
But my mother
Will she not cry?
The living will move on
Worry not, he whispered
In his embrace I was drawn
We stayed like that
Till the hues of dawn
With him, I was free
I knew not sorrow or misery
I knew this to be destiny
As I love him, and he loves me

Will it make an agreement with you for you to take it as your slave for life?
🤫 don't let others know
Why would I do that?
Not too keen on your Grim Reaper my self.....probably just a matter of taste...LOL!
"just started out and am exploring my style as a poet."
Try this for size (I don't think you need all of it, but if some little hint makes sense, it was worth the effort):
