I Dreamed I Was Dancing

Eileen Clark

I dreamed I was dancing in the dark

Not on stage but in a beautiful park

No one watching but a few white birds

They'll not tell, they don't tweet words

I was wearing a pretty fluffy white dress

With five or six petticoats more or less

They made a rustling swishing sorta sound

When I jumped up and down up and down

I saw an awesome thing when I awoke from sleep

White feathers covering my entire floor knee deep

It was an amazing dream that I often want to repeat

For I can't dance right now, a wheelchair I use for feet
