Smokey hazy 

Dreamy eyes

A lover's gaze

A sweetheart's kiss

Wanting more

The addiction fuels the flame

The gasoline has run out

Cold so cold

You second guess

You need it though

That fiery passion 

Butterflies streaming from the pit of your stomach

Moths that fly towards the dark

Instead of the light

You're falling

Harder than you expected

Didn't ask for this, did you?

It's too late now

Because you're lying on you're back

Staring into those brown glowing stars

Orange

They turn when the moon comes out

Caresses as soft as flower petals

A golden burst of sunshine

When the smile's directed your way

The seas there too

Choppy waters dark blue

Cold and stinging

For some reason you enjoy

The salty taste of your tears

As you watch the sun disappear

It comes and goes

Always leaving you on a merry-go-round

You want off

You crave it to much though

An addiction that you have to feed

No one's called love that have they?

The best and yet worse drug

Gives the highest highs

Drops you to your kness

With the lowest lows

It's inescapable

It's got you in it's grasp

No matter how far or fast you run

You can't outrun it

It's not something from the inside

Rather it's something in you

It leaves and breathes

Whispers seductive flatteries

Blood drips from it's too perfect mouth

The drops sting as they fall upon your skin

The tiny kisses feel like bliss

Until the teeth are digging in

The pain is part of the allure

Isn't it?

You want to see if you can survive 

If you can handle love

The sweet nectarine scent lures in unsuspecting victims

Who, unknowingly, have fallen right into the trap

Some make it out

Others spend years trying to undo

Enchantments that entangle their mind

The question I ask,

Which are you?

Enchanted or the Enchanter

Will you survive?

Or will you find yourself like many others

Battling a losing game

 

Black roses

Hushed whispers

Curling smoke

The scent of broken hearts 

Hopeful pleas

Clasped hands holding 

Cupid's arrow

Once struck you'll

Live in the cotton candy world

Until you eat you way out

Most don't

Or can't

The sugar stains teeth

Sweetens and taints breath

Oh what it is

To fall in love

But oh what a sugar-coated nightmare

The waiting 

Wanting

Longing 

Ripped wings

Fallen feathers as the angel

Falls from that perfect

Oasis

The ambrosia still dripping
