loneliness

sweetwords

it's deep seeded
it clings to your heart and your lungs and every bone in your body
it sticks like glue,
or more like cement that you can't get out of

you feel trapped,
lost in it
there's no light,
only darkness
it creeps into your vision and surrounds you,
swallowing you whole

it has you in its grip,
tightening its chokehold
it doesn't care that you can't breathe
it doesn't want you to

it wants you to suffer
alone
by yourself
with no hope in the world that it'll ever get better,
that it'll ever go away
