To stare into the eyes of a lying man
a beast looking at its next prey
no remorse, just hunger for my soul
Mouth moving, lies spilling
Like arrows raining down on me
heart bleeding from the wounds
Lies cut right through me but I'm numb
To stare into the eyes of a lying man
I see hungry lions standing before me
These lions unfazed by an injured prey
It's the cries of misery it consumes
hunger starts to fade as the prey rises
Once a beast now a man standing before me
To stare into the eyes of a lying man
I see through your lies staring right back at me
Like flies surrounding a decaying animal
My wounds you will not feast upon today
As time flies your lies revealed itself
Now it's your own pride that hunts you
Wounded but I'll survive without you

- Comment from author about the poem: I reflected on the day he stood there looked into my eyes and said he loved me. Those words had no meaning anymore. It was all lies, our love wasn\\\'t real. Atleast mine was and he used it against me.
