The Creature from The City Of Lamps

Andino

Inside this city of lamps
where buildings are appealing and hold the sky
I divulge it feels empty most of the time.
Despite the mortal mess, cars, or soda cans.

There's always a stranger without a home
or a lone wolf within the pack.
A face distorted in the shimmering lights.
-a creature of the night
towards me, you walked
with a rucksack full of oaths
quantities of curious something
but you are running out of time.

Daylight is his adversary
heart dwells in the dark
He is frightened by the waters
although the fish is his zodiac sign.

And now you are just a legend
a myth we write about
the lore is about you and the chaos that walks with you.
The fable of the city lamps enunciates that
to keep your eyes away one must always have
-a candle, a blessing, and this poem in hand.

Since you have not told me anything about yourself, not read or commented on anyone else's' work, why should I bother?

    • Andino

Hello! Thanks for taking interested in sharing your energy with me. I am new to all this and Im getting to learn how to engage. English is not my main language so kind of gets in the way. But worry not my name is Andino and I write to express.

Haven't got any energy - I'm old.. Don't presume what you don't know. Put it out there on the page - for all to get to know you.
        A guarded welcome to MPS.
