Norman Flagtea

The girls are young

and the boys are still called Tom

and they enlist

or take up welding

at the community college

and last year's prom queen

is pregnant

and about to move to Seattle

Space Needle and all

but the intrests are still low

and Leo's pick-up

needs new shocks.

    I liked this brief poem; read it several times. I think it is a fine example of the "slice of life" or "snapshot" form of literature, like that of earlier modern poets. Hope to see others soon.
