I am an amaryllis

saltedsaints

They say women are like a rare flower,

We bloom with the right amount of care,

But I say I am an amaryllis.

I’ll bloom and rebloom despite the season

You may ask, what’s the reason?

It’s because there is longevity within me;

It lies in the reach of my stalk.

I am wild and free, I’ll even grow on a tree!

My sweet aroma walks,

I’m all the drama and more…

My delicate petals exude elegance

(Something you’ve never seen before)

My Greek roots boast of my ancestral beauty from Aphrodite.

I am the knights star

I stand high and mighty

No matter my size

I blow my trumpet

For I am the prize

I am an amaryllis.
