To my dear mother, who may not read or write,
But whose love for me shines forever bright,
Sometimes you scold, sometimes you cajole,
But it's all from a heart that's full of soul.
I know you've had your share of strife,
But your strength and resilience inspire my life,
You've always been there, through thick and thin,
And your love has been my constant win.
Your hands may not hold a book or pen,
But they've worked hard to make ends meet and then,
You've never let me go hungry or cold,
And for that, your worth can't be sold.
I may not always say it, but I know,
That you're the reason I can stand tall and grow,
Your sacrifices and struggles I'll never forget,
And I promise to repay the debt.
So here's a poem, just for you,
To say thank you for all that you do,
I love you, Mom, more than words can express,
And I'll always be grateful for your tenderness
