Before The Fall

Kurt Philip Behm

Wounded vanity

 mother of all tragedy

Slander and insults

the arrows dead aim

Pride bleeding carnage

no reason can bandage

The mirror once broken

—each crack filled with pain

(Dreamsleep: February, 2023)

Invisible in nature
it simmers within
To rise to the surface
when conflict begins

    Dear Kurt,

    ā€¢ ā€œBefore The Fallā€
    ā€œThe mirror once broken
    ā€”each crack filled with painā€

These words reminded me of a recent faux pas I regretfully made.

    ā€¢ ā€œInvisible in natureā€ā€¦

A powerful force within us that will
    ā€œrise to the surface
    when conflicts beginsā€

This reminds me so much of Cutty.
