sweetwords

They only go after the pretty ones
I'd hear people say
So -

I deemed myself ugly and hoped it would keep me safe.
I dressed in all black,
covered myself head to toe,
kept my hair basic or chopped into a style that didn't look good on me.

I hoped dressing more like a boy would keep eyes off me,
and hands away from places I didn't want to be touched.
It didn't matter how I saw myself, though.
It only matter how they saw me;
an innocent, vulnerable girl who they were excited to prey upon,
who they were excited to ruin.

    Black is the master of colors..
    Uglyness & beauty have no objective criterion.
    And a cautious Eve, like you , reflects more elegance .
    So , come out of your cocoon .
    Sip your dawn nectar ..
