Tune: Hursley
('Sun of my soul, my Saviour dear')
Psalm 40 v.1-5
******
We wait patiently for the Lord
Incline to us Lord, hear our call
Bring us out of horrible pit
Set us on your way, with path lit
Bring us too out of miry clay
That our footsteps not stuck do stay
But set our feet upon a rock
For of our steps you do take stock
Establish our goings, and we
Shall sing new song you give us, see
Even praise to you, our God, so
Many shall see it, shall you know
Blessed they that make the Lord their trust
Though they but men made of the dust
Blessed they who respect not the proud
Nor such as are of lies endowed
Many, O Lord our God, are your
Wondrous works you have shown us sure
If we reckon your thoughts to us
We cannot count them, numberless

it always helps if there is a little hope left over at the end of another long day ............. 🐀🐀
Thanks N. Do you hold out much hope that you can beat another egg?! I talk some rubbish. lol.
The body of the poem is far too technical for my sinple mind, orchi - thus I will confine myself to your title and ask is hope helpful, and does it always bring home the goods, or at least a bone for Fido....?😇!!!
Maybe it's 'Hopeful Help' instead? Or as well as 'Helpful Hope'?!
Yes, for Fido hope is helpful, as he hopes for his daily bone.
Well then - you have the right kind of access to confirm the efficacy of hope - does Fido receive his bone (and who provided it?
Orchidee your second and fourth stanzas really hit me. This was a wonderful prayer, song, poem of hope.
Thanks S. You been in a bog - miry clay, etc? It's metaphorical, of course, though could be literal too. I remember I fell in a cess pit the other day.... did I? lol.
