Upon witnessing a Herald of Spring

L. B. Mek

Lurking steps, scuffing earth

Cherishing quietude of aimlessness, amongst

Nature’s energetic insistence of fidgety life

Whispers of Wordsworthian Daffodils

Serenading, poetic musings

I came upon a single, budding Primrose

Only noticeable amongst thought’s distracting

Shrubbery, by its glint of flora pride

Resplendent in alluring, Sunkissed yellow

With its hue of milky white delicate petals

What deft subtlety in Gaia’s graceful, intellect

Here amongst overgrown, wild weeds

Winter battered, hunchback grass and stale mud

This daintily, sweet herald of Spring’s sublime

Is blooming, with such evergreen fervency

I crouch, get close

Imagine it having a sweet floral fragrance

To an attuned nose

Yet, even for me an entity as uncultured

As any can get, I too

Testify to this wondrous emblem of botanical

Splendour, existing purely

To serenade lacklustre, Winter weary eyes

As a chosen herald, to that

Rebirth season of hope’s, fluttering butterflies

As once more, we welcome ye

I just knew all that mulch during both the cold and the dry spells would eventually come in handy .. what a magnificent testimony and tribute to Prolet or Spring sir Mek ..

      Such an irresistible season
Hard to do it justice in such humble scribbles
      still, we can only try..
so glad you liked it Hyung
hope you n yours have a rejuvenating Spring!

A beautiful tribute to spring. However, at the risk of venturing too far I think it goes much farther. The primrose and spring itself symbols of rebirth, renewal and optimism, like the phoenix from ashes, SPRING from mother Gaia in new birth. The regeneration of weather, life, emotions, or the soul are wonderous to behold. Lest I wax on too long, I love spring and the summer. Such a heart warming write.

          Insightful as always, kind Poet
          indeed, it be those revitalising
          seasons, that inspire so many
          of our life's highlight mementos..
          so humbled
          by the consideration/deliberation
          you afford my humble scribbles
          thank you!
