Row of Lights

Prasun Goswami

As light begins to fade, and night draws near,

A festival of darkness takes its place,

The moon and stars, a lamp that’s always there,

A beacon shining in the void of space.

Today, a twinkle, then a fleeting gleam,

Intermittent flashes, not a constant glow,

This world of light, a fleeting, sparkling dream,

With laughter that is both spontaneous and low.

Happiness arrives with each new dawn,

And melodies that fill the soul with cheer,

"O light, my light, O world of light, so fair,

O light, that cleanses and warms the heart with care."

Eternal bard of timelessness and might,

How did you write such lines, with such delight?
